There has been no increase in rents in industrial areas.

This is underlined by EBE Famagusta, referring to allegations of businessmen published today in the newspaper "Phileleftheros" regarding the industrial area of Frenaros.

The rents, as reported by EVEA, are frozen for a second five years (until 19/04/23) by decision of the Council of Ministers and following relevant interventions by the CCCI and the Local Chambers.

In fact, adds EVEA, the amount of the increase is covered by the state as aid to business activities.

The following decisions are also applied for the convenience of businesses:
* The payment of annual rents is done in monthly installments (within the time covered by the rental period), instead of prepayment.
* For any delays in the payment of rents of previous periods, the Ministry of Commerce makes arrangements, a practice that continues.

Especially for the Frenarus industrial area, EVEA reports that a delegation of the Chamber recently visited the area, together with representatives of the Ministry of Commerce, where they discussed their problems with the businessmen.

During the visit, both the representatives of the Ministry of Commerce and the EVEA delegation reiterated their commitment to continued support of the industrial world in the framework of future development grant schemes.
