The Famagusta District Court today issued a three-day detention order against three people aged 37, 38 and 31, to facilitate police investigations into an investigated case of attempted destruction of property with explosives, illegal possession / transport / use of explosives crime, threat, arson, malicious damage and extortion, offenses committed in the early hours of Saturday, May 15 in Frenaros.

According to the Police, the two suspects, aged 37 and 38, were arrested by court order, during a coordinated operation carried out yesterday morning, in which members of the Famagusta TAE, YKAN Famagusta and the Kynos Branch participated.

The 31-year-old was arrested yesterday afternoon after securing a testimony during the interrogations of the Famagusta Police Department.

It is recalled that around 1.50 in the early hours of 15th In May, a fire broke out in six vehicles owned by a company, which were parked in an open space in the province of Famagusta.

The fire, which was extinguished by members of the Fire Service, the vehicles with a total value of 12 thousand euros, were completely destroyed.

Tests were carried out at the scene which showed that the fire was caused by an improvised explosive device containing a low-explosive device, which was placed on the ground near one of the six vehicles.

The three suspects were brought before the District Court of Famagusta today, which issued a three-day detention order against them.

The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
