The road Avgorou - Frenarous remains closed due to a traffic accident that occurred around 12.30 today at noon.
Police are on the scene and are regulating traffic.
Two women, drivers of vehicles that collided head-on on the Avgorou-Frenarous road, were taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital.
According to Famagusta.News, around 12:30, two cars were moving in the opposite direction on the specific road, when under the conditions under investigation one of them seems to have entered the opposite lane and collided head-on with a second vehicle.
The two drivers of the cars, a 70-year-old and a 45-year-old, both from Avgorou, were trapped in their vehicles and the Fire Brigade had to intervene to release them.
They were transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital, but their state of health appears to be not a cause for concern, according to the first information from Famagusta.News.
The causes of the traffic accident are being investigated by the Famagusta Traffic Police.
