Four hundred and sixty-eight (468) names of specialist doctors are included in the list of GESS, of which only about 115 come from the private health sector. The Health Insurance Organization (OAY) and the Ministry of Health believe that over time the number of specialist doctors who will enroll in GESS will increase. The list of specialist doctors who have joined the GESS is constantly updated. Nevertheless, "P", at the urging of its readers, will publish by specialty the doctors who have joined the system. The beginning is made today with the specialties of Cardiology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Endocrinology and Neurology. In more detail:
In their list cardiologists Until yesterday, 55 doctors were included, of which 18 from the private health sector and 37 from the public sector. Two private doctors from the province of Famagusta have joined the system, while there are two others in the hospital. The Limassol Hospital is staffed with 10 cardiologists and so far three private doctors have joined the system. In Nicosia, 7 cardiologists from the private sector have joined GeSY and another 16 are in the capital's hospital.
The GESS list includes 10 cardiologists from Paphos, 4 from the private sector and six from the public sector, as well as 5 from the province of Larnaca (2 from the private sector and 3 from the public sector).
As for the generals surgeons, have officially joined GeSY 42, all over Cyprus. From the private sector, by province, they are on the list 16 individuals (1 from the province of Famagusta, one from the province of Limassol, 3 from Nicosia, 2 from Larnaca and 8 from Paphos) and 26 of public hospitals (9 at Nicosia Hospital, 8 at Limassol Hospital, 4 at the Famagusta Hospital, 3 at Paphos Hospital and 2 at Larnaca Hospital).
Six gastroenterologists are on the list, including two individuals from Nicosia. Regarding the doctors of the hospitals, the list includes two doctors from the Nicosia Hospital and another two from the Larnaca Hospital.
In relation to the specialty of Endocrinology, until yesterday 4 doctors had joined GeSY, one of them from the private sector with a doctor's office in Nicosia. The other three are in Nicosia Hospital.
The total number of dermatologists in GeSY amounts to 11. Only two individuals (from Nicosia) had joined GeSY until yesterday. The names are posted in the directory of a dermatologist from the Famagusta Hospital, two from the Limassol Hospital and five from the Nicosia Hospital.
Thirteen neurologists are also included in the GESS list. Three individuals (two from Limassol, one from Nicosia), 7 from the Institute of Genetics and Neurology and three from state hospitals (1 from the Limassol Hospital, 1 from the Nicosia Hospital, 1 from the Paphos Hospital).
