The unique Theotokos relic, which is preserved from the earthly life of the Virgin Mary, died in Cyprus yesterday, February 5, the Teaching Archimandrite Elder Ephraim from the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos.

Timia Zoni was welcomed at the old airport of Larnaca, with honors of the head of state, by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Vasilios, in the presence of the representative of the Government of the Minister of Justice and Public Order Mr. Marios Hartsiotis, the Metropolitans of Kiti, Limassol and Tamasos, the Bishops of Amathus and Neapolis and the Mayor of Paralimni Theodoros Pyrillis.

Agia Zoni will remain for worship at the church of Agios Georgios in Paralimni until Sunday, February 5. While from February 11 until March 4 it will be transferred to the Holy Metropolises of Limassol, Paphos, Trimythoundos, Tamasos, Kitio, as well as to other areas of Cyprus.
