It has already generated interest from entrepreneurs

Mayor Liopetriou expressed his warm thanks to the government and the Minister of Agriculture, expressing optimism that the community is now actively entering the field of fisheries and tourism development, as the reconstruction of the Liopetri River is expected to serve both purposes. The creation of the project has been a constant request of the community of Liopetri and the professional fishermen of the area for many years. It was planned before 2013 and was supposed to start maybe five years ago. However, the dramatic events of March 2013 with the problems that arose in the Cypriot economy, put the play back in the "fridge".
