EDON Famagusta expressed its strong reaction through an announcement for the writing of fascist slogans in Liopetri.

This announcement:

"It is sad in the year 2019 and while we are going through the 45th year since the black July of 1974 that divided our homeland and our people in two, there are still people who reminisce and dream of the existence of those who paved the way for sharing our homeland, and that only afflictions brought to our place.

Unfortunately, once again, extreme nationalist elements, nostalgic for EOKA B 'and the cripple of Cyprus Griva, proceeded to write slogans. It seems that the nostalgia of the criminal organization EOKA B ', forget that the nationalists - chauvinists in both communities of Cyprus, were willing collaborators and executive body in the NATO plans for the dismemberment of our country. They forget that the fascist organizations sowed hatred between the two communities and carried out tortures and murders against democratic-progressive citizens. Specifically, on the wall of a primary school in Liopetri was written the slogan EOKA B RECREATED. In fact, a few days later, as EDON, we proceeded to erase fascist and nationalist slogans from public spaces in cities and villages throughout Cyprus.

Even today, 45 years later, unrepentant followers insist on the ideologies and slogans that opened the gates to Attila. Nationalism, unbridled patriotism, anti-communism and grumbling poison youth consciences by breaking the unity of the Cypriot people.

As EDON we declare once again that such acts do not frighten us. We declare that we will continue to fight against nationalism - chauvinism and we will continue the struggle for liberation and reunification of our place and people to return to our beloved cities and villages. It is our duty to all our democratic and progressive compatriots who gave their lives for peace in our country. "
