From the beginning of September, the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Irini Charalambidou, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a letter about the issue of the two children in Liopetri and their request for Cypriot citizenship, which criticizes the political exploitation of the issue.
In statements to the Parliament on Wednesday, he said that he expected that an issue concerning two children would be manipulated and added that as Chairman of the Committee he was called to handle it.
"Two months ago I sent a letter to the Minister of Interior, dated September 9, attaching all the necessary documents proving that the children were entitled to what they asked for and I regret to note that two months later, not only did I not receive an answer as President "I see the issue being politically exploited and I am very sorry because we are dealing with two minor children," he said.
