The Minister of Education, Sports, Culture and Youth, Prodromos Prodromou, referred to the measures taken by the Ministry of Education after the identification of a teacher who tested positive for the coronavirus, saying that the two schools where he taught have been disinfected. The students of the classes in which the specific teacher taught will stay at home for some days, he announced while he said that the distance education will also be used.

Mr. Prodromou stated that any incidents that may occur are provided for in the health protocols.

As he said, a teacher who tested positive for the coronavirus has indeed been diagnosed and the two schools where he taught were immediately disinfected.

He added that despite the fact that the teaching was done with the use of a protective mask by himself and the children, for prevention purposes the students of the classes in which the particular teacher taught will stay at home for some days.

The schools were immediately prepared, he said, adding that he had personally visited the school in Nicosia on Friday morning. The children will start distance education from Monday, he added.
