In a letter, PA.SYNO calls on nurses not to undertake incidents beyond the appropriate and safe ratio of nurses and beds, due to the apathetic behavior of the OKYπY Management in the safe staffing of nursing staff.

Subject: Inactivation of beds in the Pathological and Surgical Chamber Covid-19 of Famagusta General Hospital
Colleagues,
We would like to inform you that beds are inactivated in the Covid - 19 Pathological and Surgical Ward of the General Hospital of Famagusta, as a first measure, due to the apathetic behavior of the OKYπY Directorate in the safe staffing of the nursing staff.
The staff in the specific Departments must be 36 nurses for 22 beds of patients positive in Covid-19.
The ratio to be applied to these Departments should be one nurse per three patients in the morning shift and one nurse per four patients in the afternoon and night shifts.
Our guild invites its members to treat only 16 patients in the Pathology Ward and 18 in the Surgical Ward Covid-19, so that patients are treated in a safe environment, which is not guaranteed by understaffing.
As a result, 6 beds in the Pathology Room and 4 beds in the Surgical Room are inactivated until the appropriate staffing ratio is applied.
The union calls on our members to follow the union's instructions and not to undertake incidents beyond the appropriate and safe ratio of nurses and beds.
From the Board ΠΑ.ΣΥ.ΝΟ.
