The attendance of spectators and carnivalgoers exceeded all expectations – Around 40 thousand spectators are estimated to have attended the Famagusta Carnival in Paralimni
With more than two thousand carnival participants and with the spectators estimated to have reached forty thousand, the Famagusta Carnival culminated with the great Carnival Parade that took place today, Sunday, February 26, 2023, in the main streets of Paralimni.

The great Carnival parade started at 2 in the afternoon and was attended by more than two thousand carnival revelers in walking groups and floats.
The parade was opened by a group of cantadores consisting of the Mandolinata of the Municipality of Paralimni and then followed by the float of the King and Queen with the theme "Musical Carnival". This year's "royal couple" consisted of the dance teacher Christiana Siopacha who represented the Community of Frenarous and the musician and performer Kostas Florentzou who represented the Community of Agios Georgios Acheritos - Vrysoullon.
Among others, the Mayor and councilors of Paralimni as well as the President and members of the Frenarous Community Council participated in the parade.
On Saturday, February 25, 2023, the eve of the big parade, young and old carnival goers poured into the main streets of Paralimni during the established Night Foot Parade which ended in the crowded central square of Paralimni where a big carnival party was organized.
The events were organized as every year by the Organizing Committee of the Famagusta Carnival while they are hosted by the Municipality of Paralimni.
