Extensive damage to two apartments in Paralimni due to fire

Extensive damage was caused to two apartments in Paralimni due to a fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning. Fortunately, there were no occupants in the apartments at the time of the fire.

An announcement from the Fire Department states that at three in the morning a call was received for a fire in two apartments on the 1st floor of a two-storey apartment complex on Apollonos Street.

The Famagusta Fire Station responded with 2 fire trucks and the fire was brought under control at 04:07. The fire started from the outside terrace of one apartment and spread through the glass showcases of the balconies inside the 2 apartments. Both apartments suffered extensive damage from smoke and heat, both in their equipment and in the paint. There were no occupants in the apartments at the time of the fire. The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the Police and an investigation will follow by the Electromechanical Service.

In total, the Fire Department from 06.00 on January 5 until 06:00 today responded to 24 calls for help, 10 fires, 13 special services and 1 fake call.
