On February 9, an inter-school student conference was held at the Paralimni High School on the topic: AI-HUMAN-CENTERED, RELIABLE AND RESPONSIBLE GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY - NECESSITY AND DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS.
Main speaker Dr. Savvas Hatzichristofis – Professor of Artificial Intelligence - Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, University of Neapolis.
The conference was co-organized by Paralimni High School and Deryneia-Sotiras Six-Class High School with the support of the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute and the sponsorship of the Parents' Associations of both Schools.
The following experiential workshops were conducted
GROUP A: "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Skills of Teachers and Students"
GROUP B: "Artificial Intelligence Tools in Everyday Life and Education"
GROUP C: "Ethical Frameworks for the Use of Artificial Intelligence"
GROUP D: "A proposal for the utilization of Artificial Intelligence in the Analytical Program of the 3rd High School" (Greek, Mathematics, Physics).
The students who participated in the experiences as well as the teachers presented to the Plenary their positive experiences and the findings that had as a common denominator the exploitation of the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence, with moderation and prudence while observing the ethical frameworks that must govern its integration Artificial Intelligence in Education.
The necessity of developing new skills for both students and teachers was also emphasized.
