The Famagusta District Court recently issued an eight-day detention order against the 38-year-old who was arrested yesterday as a suspect for the "giafka" with heavy weapons in a house in Paralimni.

It is recalled that the armament was located after an attack and a large operation set up by the Police on Monday night and continued yesterday throughout the day.

This is the house outside which the father of Fanos Kalopsidiotis Giannis was murdered on June 21, 2014.

There lived a 38-year-old and a 32-year-old who were arrested.

The 32-year-old was released yesterday after the investigation process, while the 38-year-old was issued an eight-day detention order this morning.

Among other things, an RPG anti-tank launcher with missiles and propellants, a loaded pistol with fourteen rounds of ammunition, a defensive grenade, a bulletproof vest, a quantity of cocaine, a large number of spears and duty-free products were found.

It is noted that the weapon has been sent for scientific examinations while the police investigations focus both on the purpose of possession of the weapon and on whether it has been used in the past or whether it is associated with any criminal activity.
