The greeting of Dimitris Papaevelthontos:

Dear Mr. Minister of Transport, Communications and Works and dear friend Giannis,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you, together with your distinguished associates, to the Charitable Association KEPA Agios Christoforos which you have visited other times, but for the first time while you are in the highest office and home of the Ministry of Transport and this honors us and makes us happy maximally.

Your presence here at the Agios Christoforos Center for Offering and Love is for us a great support and empowerment because in your face we see the state itself listening to and strengthening the charitable work of the Association.

The Agios Christoforos Offer and Love Center has been operating for the last 25 years, supporting and helping our suffering fellow human beings in the province of Famagusta. His actions and activities are many. I will refer to them briefly so as not to waste your precious time.

  1. Since 1998 it is active in the Home Distribution of Hot Food to needy Families "Syssitio" MEALS ON WHEELS
  2. Since 2006 it offers through the Social Grocery "Basket of Love" every month the necessary food to distressed families recommended by the welfare office (DEK 300)
  3. There is a standard Care & Rehabilitation Center for the Elderly and Disabled since 2000.
  4. Since 2014 Free Hospitality and Palliative Care for Cancer Patients - A project that needs a lot of support because unfortunately in our province there is no such service and people are forced to be hospitalized in Arodafnousa and oncology and relatives except Golgotha of their disease and run the risk of coming and going almost daily in Nicosia. We consider it an obligation to the Founder of KEPA, Father Evelthon, to create a specialized space to alleviate the pain of our fellow human beings who are in this difficult stage. With God's help we plan to create an extra floor for this purpose. We are ready in a few days to complete the plans.
  5. Since 1998 It hosts a Special School for Children with Special Abilities "Lighthouse of Life" (about 60 children)
  6. There is a Hostel for Extraordinary Families (Victims of Domestic Violence)
  7. Offer clothing and footwear to needy families
  8. Free Social Tutoring (Free Courses for needy and non-students)
  9. Hosting Meetings of voluntary organizations
  10. Offers Scholarships and aids to needy students and pupils
  11. Free use of playground and futsal court by guests
  12. Strengthens Missionary Work in African Countries

As you understand, the work of KEPA is multifaceted and diverse and needs support.

In closing, I would like to say the following: Certainly in your capacity you have visited (I would say better comb) from end to end all of Cyprus. You got on buses, taxis, got on bicycles, mopeds - you used all kinds of public transport and more. Let me just emphasize that you have a special bond because the patron saint of KEPA is Agios Christoforos who is the patron saint of guides since he himself carried his fellow human beings and claimed to carry on his shoulders Christ himself. You, Minister, are the material responsible for transport to Cyprus.

For this reason let me offer you in return for your love and the useful gifts you have brought… the image of the patron saint of the guides of Agios Christoforos with the request to have the KEPA in your mind, and to ask you to make us and many visits to us (surprise and planned) because surely your presence here at KEPA will always be very important.
