The chapel of Panagiotissa was the first stop of the current tour of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Giannis Karousos in free Famagusta.
Giannis Karousos met with the Metropolitan of Constantia-Famagusta Vassilios, while the meeting was attended by the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, the Director of the Department of Antiquities, Marina Solomidou-Ieronymidou and the Director of the Ministry of Communications and the Deputy Minister.
During the meeting, an on-site presentation was made of the excavations carried out by the Department of Antiquities for the promotion of an older church, of early Christian, probably, period, on which the existing chapel of the Virgin Mary was built.
