A complete upgrade of Paralimni High School, which will include its expansion, and not the construction of a second school in the area, decided the Ministry of Education.
The problems faced by this school in terms of its infrastructure are expected to be largely resolved with the upgrade that will be done by the Technical Services of the Ministry of Education. According to the head of the Technical Services, Andreas Marangos, for the works planned at the Paralimni High School, a fund of approximately three million euros has already been approved.

The works, which are scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2019, will include a complete upgrade of the school building as well as its expansion, in order to solve the problems created by the lack of rooms and the moving Departments but also to move away from the space. the collapsible classes. The Larnaca District Inspector for Secondary Education, Michalis Loizidis, also referred to these projects, who, when asked to comment on the matter, stated that these are decisions and actions that will solve problems facing the school, to a large extent.
However, apart from the building problems, Paralimni High School also faces a problem of overcrowding. This is the reason why voices are heard about the need to build a second school in the area. This possibility is ruled out by the Ministry of Education as two other schools (specifically in Frenaros and Deryneia) are operating close to Paralimni High School, which are able to accept another 100 students.
Ministry sources told us that it does not mean that there are two or three schools nearby and that some of them are overcrowded and selected by parents and students and others are almost empty, again raising the issue of educational districts.
It is worth noting that the school letter states that 646 students are currently attending, a number which is increasing as students with immigrant biographies who arrive in Cyprus join the school throughout the school year.
