Paralimni acquired accessible beaches as part of a European Program

In the framework of the co-financed project Interreg Greece-Cyprus HERMES II - "Tourism without Barriers for All"

The co-financed project HERMES II, in which the Municipality of Paralimni participates as a partner, has been completed.

A written announcement of the Municipality of Paralimni states that "through the program the Municipality has acquired the equipment but also the valuable experience for hosting local and foreign visitors with disabilities who choose Cyprus to spend their holidays".

Specifically, the Municipality of Paralimni "has 6 autonomous (and energy) access ramps to the sea, outdoor fitness areas in 4 areas of the coastal front of the Municipality, 24 special wheelchairs (wheelchairs) available for use on the beaches and in places of tourist interest. 4 accessible sanitary areas ".

According to the announcement "in combination with the recent presentation of the Integrated Tourism Strategy of the Municipality of Paralimni, the HERMES program proves the will of the Municipality and its collaborators to adopt in practice the alternative forms of tourism, in this case Accessible Tourism (accessible tourism) ».
