The city of Paralimni, this year modestly honored the memory of the patron and protector of St. George the Trophy Bearer (on the occasion of the resurrection of his holy relics), after which the Metropolitan Church is honored.
On the eve of the feast, Tuesday, November 2, the Great Festive Episcopal Vespers of the Most Venerable Metropolitan Constantius and Famagusta, Mr. Vassilios, was celebrated, accompanied by the Protosyncle of the Holy Metropolitan, Archbishop of the Municipal authorities, representatives of the security forces and dozens of believers.
This was followed by the procession of the holy icon and the fragment of the holy relic in the main streets of the city, during which the catechism band played, while an army procession honorably surrounded the procession. The holy image was brought by scouts of the 21st Naval Scout System.
On the eponymous day of the feast, Wednesday, November 3, the Festive Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was performed. Prior to his dismissal, the annual memorial service was held for the Blessed Metropolitan of Adrianople, the venerable Damascene, whose Metropolitan Constantia served as deacon and first as Protosyggelos in the Holy Diocese of Switzerland.
This was followed by the procession of the holy icon and the fragment of the holy relic, around the temple.
