The Permanent Criminal Court of Famagusta found a 39-year-old former reality TV star from Turkey guilty of raping a 35-year-old woman in Paralimni in April 2022.
According to information, the 39-year-old political asylum seeker was found guilty of the three charges of rape, deprivation of liberty for the purpose of sexual abuse and threat of violence.
The offenses were committed in April 2022 in Paralimni with the complainant, a 35-year-old woman from Cameroon, a political asylum seeker. The 39-year-old allegedly invited the woman to his apartment where he raped her.
The 39-year-old is facing a multi-year prison sentence, following the conviction of the Criminal Court,
The Criminal Court set the case for November 22, in order for the 39-year-old's lawyer to buy for a mitigation of the sentence.
The 39-year-old will remain in custody.
