The Pancyprian Hoteliers Association (PASYXE) of Famagusta calls on the government to take the necessary corrective actions on the issue of reducing the tourism product from specific markets such as Russia.

A written announcement states that "the Board of Directors of PASYXE Famagusta in a recent meeting dealt with, among other things, the movement of tourism so far, both in the Free Province of Famagusta and in Cyprus in general. It is a common finding that traffic in terms of arrivals and future bookings is reduced compared to last year, especially from the Russian and German markets, but also with the British moving at about the same levels.

He added: "It is difficult and risky to estimate the decline from key markets at the end of the year. He calls on those in charge to see the reduction that exists and to weigh things properly, away from impressions, expediencies and without panic and to make the necessary corrective moves ".

The Board of Directors of the Association also discussed "the huge problem that exists from the uncontrolled use of villas as tourist accommodation without the relevant permits and approvals and especially without the payment of any taxes. PASYXE Famagusta calls on the Government, the Parliament and the CTO to take immediate drastic measures and to adopt similar regulations that govern the operation of these villas as tourist accommodation ".

Regarding the "huge problem of labor shortage observed in the entire tourism industry", PASYXE "calls on the Government to take action, take appropriate measures and take appropriate action away from the trivial prohibition measures in that concerning the employment of students from third countries ".
