PROTARAS: 5-year-old man in prison for 35 years for robbery at a kiosk

A 35-year-old resident of the province of Famagusta was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday, after the Criminal Court of Famagusta found him guilty on the charge of robbery with the use of a dummy pistol.

This is a robbery case committed in a kiosk in Protaras on 30/10/23.

The robbery was committed at a kiosk in Protaras on October 30. According to the evidence under review, an unknown man entered the kiosk and asked to buy cigarettes. The man then allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the money from the cash register. The employee allegedly refused and the man after grabbing the entire cash register, ran away. While leaving, the perpetrator allegedly got into a car, which was waiting for him outside the kiosk, and they fled in an unknown direction.
