The "Peace and Freedom" Middle School-Lyceum of Deryneia-Sotiras won the 1st place among 9 competing secondary schools in the MATHeatre CYPRUS 2023-2024 competition.
The students will represent Cyprus in the final phase of the MATHeatre Europe 2024 International Competition, which will take place on March 12-16, 2024 in Rome.
The competition was held in the context of the 19th Pan-Cypriot Student Conference on Mathematics, which was held on December 2, 2023, in the Campus, at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia.
The "Peace and Freedom" Gymnasium-Lyceum of Deryneia-Sotiras took part in this Competition for the first time, with the play "The Testament of Uncle George Planis", by George Darivas, in a theatrical adaptation by our student Kleopas Salamiotis. 8 students aged 14-18 participated in the play. The school won 1st place among 9 competing secondary schools.
The MATHeatre Cyprus 2023-2024 Competition was the first phase of the MATHeatre Europe 2024 International Competition. The conference is aimed at students, who present papers related to mathematics and other sciences. At least 8 competitions for students are organized during the conference, including MATHeatre.
