The Mayor of Paralimni sent a message to the people of Famagusta everywhere in his post last night regarding today's Archbishop elections, expressing support for the person of the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Vassiliou.
The Mayor of Paralimni sent the message to the people of Famagusta in support of Metropolitan Vassiliou, at the same time raising the question, how will the people of Famagusta feel if the local Metropolitan remains outside the triumvirate and that is why their personal vote is responsible.
This is the message of the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis:
"Dear friends,
Tomorrow the Greek Orthodox Christians of our country will elect the chosen three who will be brought before the Holy Synod, which will elect the new Archbishop of Cyprus.
We all know that a Hierarch, the Metropolitan of Limassol whom I Respect and Appreciate unlimitedly, is already one of the three. The remaining two places will be decided between Tamasos, Pafos and Constantias - Famagusta.
Think about it, everyone, how would you feel if the MASTER of AMMOCHOSTO was left out of the THREE FACE for one vote and it was yours.
All Cypriots and especially NO ONE FROM AMMOHOSTIAN should not deprive our Metropolitan Mr. Basilio of the opportunity to be in TRIPROSSOPO.
