The members of the Pancypriot Bar Association went on a two-hour warning stop today, Thursday, December 1.
In the province of Famagusta, the work stoppage took place outside the Famagusta District Court, where the members of the Famagusta Bar Association stayed away from their duties from 9:30 until 11:30 in the morning.

The President of the Famagusta Bar Association, Mr. Stavros Mavrommatis, speaking to the camera of Famagusta.News, stated that in this symbolic way, the Pan-Cypriot Bar Association expresses its opposition and its reflection on the multiple and serious effects arising from the Adjudication of Delayed Cases (Special) Rules of Procedure 2022 which have been published last Friday 25 November 2022 by the Supreme Court.

The Association's position is that the only thing that is achieved by promoting unilateral solutions is to put unbearable pressure on lawyers, litigants and judges in order to proceed with the proceedings seemingly at a fast pace, as a result of which the problems in the justice sector are exacerbating even more and it is affected irreparably the rule of law and the Cypriot citizen.
