With praise and a live internet discussion, the Municipality of Sotiras celebrated the anniversary of the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA 1955-59.
At 6:30 in the morning, the band of the Catholic Diocese of Sotira held a rally and then a flag was raised by the Mayor Georgios Takkas at the monument of the Fallen and Missing. The Greek flag was raised in the middle mast, which was raised during the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA 1955-59 by Archimandrite George Ioannou.
At 8:30 a solemn doxology was performed at the Holy Temple of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
The solemnity of the day of Archimandrite George John was pronounced by the Elder George Hatziadamou.
Afterwards, a trisagion was performed at the monument of the Fallen and Missing, a one-minute silence and the laying of wreaths.
At 7 pm a flag was hoisted while at 7:30 pm a live internet discussion with guests the Historian Dr. Andreas Karyos and the Criminologist Dr. Lambros Kaoullas. The discussion was greeted by the Mayor Sotiras Georgios Takkas while coordinated by the Cultural Officer of the Municipality, Marinos Pavlikkas.
