A joint meeting with the Municipalities of Deryneia and Sotira was held this morning at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works under the chairmanship of Minister Giannis Karousos to coordinate and accelerate the actions of all agencies for the construction of the Deryneia-Sotira road.
The goal, as stated by the Minister of Transport, is to complete all studies related to the highway projects as soon as possible, so that the offers can be realized within 2020.
The construction of the Deryneia-Sotiras highway, said Giannis Karousos, is a project which is in the announcements of the President of the Republic and is a priority of the Ministry.
It is pointed out that the urban planning project of the Improvement of the Sotiras - Deryneia road and the replacement of the asbestos water pipeline with a corresponding metal one amounts to 13 million euros, with the contracting authority being the Ministry of Transport. The announcement of offers is expected in March 2020, the start around September 2020 and its completion is expected around the end of 2022 with the beginning of 2023.
