Four Egyptians who were illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus were arrested after a coordinated operation by the Foreigners and Immigration Service of Famagusta.
Specifically, today, Thursday, October 5, 2023, between the hours of 5:30 and 7 in the morning, members of the Foreigners and Immigration Service of Famagusta together with members of the corresponding Larnaca service, following relevant information, conducted a coordinated operation in a specific area in Sotira Famagusta to identify and arresting illegal aliens from Egypt who were reported to have abandoned their workplaces and legal employers and were residing illegally on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
The said persons, in fact, according to the Police investigations, seem to have been engaged in illegal activities and were working illegally in other sectors than the one for which they arrived in the Republic.
During the operation, four foreigners from Egypt were identified and arrested and steps are being taken to deport them from the Famagusta Prison.
