The specific project, he said, "was delayed for a decade" and is now becoming a reality thanks to the efforts of the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, Public Works and Local Authorities. Its implementation in combination with a series of other urban projects, which have either been implemented or are in progress, will contribute to the overall upgrade of the Famagusta free area, he said.
Among these projects is the DG Phase of the Protaras beach promenade, which is being implemented at a cost of 4,8 million euros and will be completed in the summer, the renovation of the fishing shelter on the Liopetri river, at a cost of 8,2 million euros that is under construction, the Improvement of accessibility in the center of Ayia Napa cost 2,7 million that has already been announced and the improvement of Kappari Avenue in the Municipality of Paralimni, about 2 km long, with an estimated cost of 7 million which was offered and is expected to start in July 2021.
