Complaints against 40-year-old, 33-year-old and 24-year-old from Famagusta province - Police intensify checks

Three complaints were made in two days by the members of the Police in the province of Famagusta, after locating a corresponding number of drivers moving with their vehicles under the influence of drugs. This is a phenomenon that causes particular concern to the Police, while according to information, the members of the Famagusta Police Directorate will intensify the controls.

In the first case, on November 14 at 10 in the morning at Liopetri, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police reported a 40-year-old from a community of the free Province of Famagusta because he was driving a car while he was declared immobilized and with a canceled insurance certificate against a third party. During the search, suspicions were raised that the 40-year-old was driving his vehicle under the influence of drugs. He underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result. The 40-year-old and his vehicle were transported to the Xylofagou Police Station where a sample was taken for a final drug test.

In the second case, on November 15 at 9:30 in the morning at Sotira, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police reported a 24-year-old from a community in the free province of Famagusta because he was driving a car while he was deprived of the right to drive with a deprived driver's license. During the search, suspicions were raised that the 24-year-old was driving his vehicle under the influence of drugs. He underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result. The 24-year-old and his vehicle were transported to the Deryneia Police Station where a sample was taken for a final drug test.

In the third case, on November 15 at 23:30 at Sotira Famagusta Traffic Police members stopped a car driven by a 33-year-old man from a community in the free province of Famagusta. During the search, suspicions were raised that the 33-year-old was driving his vehicle under the influence of drugs. He underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result. The 33-year-old and his vehicle were transported to the Deryneia Police Station where a sample was taken for a final drug test.
