The Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA) requests the adoption of measures for equal distribution of the burdens of the invasion and occupation on the occasion of the discussion that was opened for the creation of a compensation fund for clipped depositors and holders of securities.
EVEA, in a statement, states that the state and the Parliament are well considering measures to redress the injustice for those who have been affected by the haircut in 2013, including many displaced depositors and holders of securities, who are victims for the second time. .
"At the same time, however, we want to point out and express our dissatisfaction with the failure of the respective governments to adopt measures to redress the injustice against the displaced who have been deprived of their homes and income for 43 years. "The state must finally assume its responsibilities and adopt measures for the true Equal Distribution of the Burdens of the Turkish invasion and occupation."
EVEA proposes the creation of a special fund for the purpose of compensating and assisting displaced owners for the loss of use of their property, by depositing the title deed of occupied property. This fund, according to EVEA, will also help financially the owners of occupied properties who are in urgent need "so that they do not have to resort to the property committee of the occupied properties and sell their properties for a lentil plate".
