According to the Police, on April 30, 2019, a 50-year-old British tourist reported to the Famagusta Police Department that on the same day, strangers broke into the hotel room where she lives in Protaras and stole two rings, a gold necklace and a necklace made of white gold.

Men from the Famagusta TAE visited the scene and conducted examinations from which they found that there was no violation of the complainant's room.

Suspicions were raised against two women from a European country aged 35 and 19 who work in a hotel and live in a village in the free province of Famagusta.

With the written consent of the two women, members of the Police conducted a search of the residence where the two women live and in the wallet of the 19-year-old were found three gold chains, a white gold chain with diamonds, two rings and a gold cross.

The findings were pointed out to the complainant who identified one gold chain and one platinum chain with diamonds as items stolen from her hotel room.

The two women voluntarily admitted that they had stolen from the complainant's room two rings, a gold necklace and a necklace made of white gold and diamonds.

Today, the two women were brought before the District Court of Famagusta, where the case was registered, which was set for trial on May 9. Until then, the two women will be detained.

The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
