89% of the patients treated with coronavirus at the General Hospital of Famagusta, which operates as a Reference Hospital, have not been vaccinated, said to KYPE Amalia Hatzigianni, Scientific Director of the General Hospitals Larnaca - Famagusta.

He added that "66 patients are currently being treated at the Reference Hospital, of which 6 are in the Intensive Care Unit as they need closer monitoring. The youngest patient is 32 years old and the oldest is 92, while the average age of the patients is 60 years ".

Yesterday, he continued, "several patients were admitted to the hospital. "89% of patients treated in public hospitals have not been vaccinated against coronavirus."

Answering a relevant question, Ms. Hatzigianni addressed "a warm appeal to all in view of the holidays of the XNUMXth of August to faithfully observe the protection measures against the coronavirus, so that the phenomenon of outbreak of cases is not observed".

On the one hand, he noted, "we are doing well and it seems that there is a reduction in cases", adding that "but at the same time there is congestion in the Intensive Care Units".

He also noted that "in order to maintain the stabilization of the cases observed in the last days, everyone should pay special attention during the weekend of the XNUMXth of August. Adherence to the measures and vaccination that must be continued by all ages, are the only weapons we have against Covid-19" write down.

He also said that the Larnaca General Hospital treats 16 patients, one of whom is in the MAF, while the Eden Rehabilitation Center in Tersefanou hosts 112 people who will remain until their complete negativity.
