The Community Council of Acheritos, in a regular meeting on April 10, 2023, decided to organize the 1st Pan-Cypriot Cultural Festival of Therus, which will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in our community.
The authentic traditional character of the festival will bring the new generation into contact with the older one, reviving the tradition, bringing us closer to the semi-occupied Acheritou and the plains of Mesaoria, since Mesaoria has been the great wheat field of Cyprus since ancient times. Vast lands were cultivated with grain and cereals, employing many workers from the region and beyond.
The visitors of the Festival will have the opportunity to watch a rich artistic program as well as the representation of the harvest. They will also have the opportunity to take part in the kneading and making of bread, to taste many products derived from wheat and to participate in many activities for young and old.
The aim of the event is to attract local and foreign visitors as well as to preserve the tradition of the place and the Community
