A traffic accident with 4 injured, including two minor children, 6 and 8 years old, occurred early on the morning of Saturday, June 10, in Xylofagos.
According to the Spokesman of the Famagusta Police Department, Steve Theodoulou, shortly before 6 am, a saloon car driven by a 26-year-old man from Romania on the old Xylofagos-Agia Napa road collided with an SUV, which was trying to enter the road from a lane .
As a result of the collision, the SUV overturned and ended up in a field where it came to rest.
In the SUV vehicle were a male driver, a 54-year-old woman and two minor children, an 8-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl, all from Moldova.
Ambulances and members of the Fire Department were called to the place where they extricated the 4 persons.
A fire broke out in the SUV which was extinguished by members of the Famagusta Fire Service.
The man and the 6-year-old child were transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital, while the 54-year-old and the 8-year-old child were taken to the Larnaca General Hospital where they are being treated.
According to the first information, their health condition is out of danger.
