A large fire is currently raging in the wooded area of the chapel of Panagia Evangelistria in the community of Xylofagou.
The fire burns vegetation from acacias and pines while four vehicles of the Fire Service are operating.
In a communication between Famagusta.News and the member of the Community Council of Xylofagos Nikos Egglezou, he stated that the fire seems to be out of control and has burned a large part of the vegetation in the forested area. Nevertheless, as he mentioned, the fire has miraculously saved the chapel of Panagia Syrmatou as well as the cave in the area while the image from the burned forest is tragic.
