The 36-year-old was arrested by the Police on Monday on the basis of a court order to facilitate the investigations into the case of robbery and causing significant damage that was committed on the afternoon of March 11, 2017 in the apartment of a 33-year-old in Sotira.

A simple traffic control led to the arrest of the 36-year-old, wanted to facilitate the investigation into an investigated robbery and assault case causing real bodily harm.

The 36-year-old was immediately arrested on a warrant, while a search of his car turned up two knives, two bats, various construction tools, three hats and a pair of gloves.

According to the facts of the case, a minor and three men stormed the home of a 11-year-old resident of Sotira on the afternoon of Saturday, March 2017, 33 and after hitting him with a bat then stole various items with a total value of over 3.000 euros.

According to the Police, a 33-year-old resident of Sotiras complained to the Famagusta Police Department that around 18:30 on the afternoon of March 11, a 17-year-old woman from Ayia Napa, accompanied by three unknown persons, visited his house.

Using physical violence, the specific persons broke the door of his house, entered it and, using a bat, attacked him, hitting him on the head and in various parts of his body.

The perpetrators then stole various of his personal belongings, ie three mobile phones, two wallets containing 680 euros and a watch, all worth a total of 3,280 euros.

Police issued arrest warrants against the 17-year-old and a 21-year-old from Syria, and the minor was arrested on the night of March 11th.

The 21-year-old was arrested in Nicosia for fine warrants and was arrested in the Sotira case.
