Around midnight, while a 40-year-old man was riding his motorcycle on Makariou GD Street in Deryneia, under conditions that are being investigated, he hit a dog that was on the road at that time, with the result that the motorcycle overturned.
The 40-year-old was seriously injured in the head and was transported first to the General Hospital of Famagusta and then to the General Hospital of Nicosia, where he was intubated and held for further treatment in the intensive care unit.
His health condition is considered very serious by the treating doctors.
The dog died in the collision.
The examinations are being continued by the Deryneia Police Station.
