A 59-year-old woman from the Czech Republic lost her life yesterday on the beach of Agia Thekla, in the eastern area located within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Ayia Napa.

According to the Police, yesterday shortly after two in the afternoon, a 59-year-old woman, a visitor from the Czech Republic, while swimming in the area of ​​Agia Thekla, within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, lost consciousness.

Lifeguards in the area transported the woman ashore and provided her with first aid without her recovering.

An ambulance transported the woman to the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctor on duty confirmed her death.

The body of the 59-year-old was inspected without detecting any external injuries and the possibility of criminal action was ruled out.

The exact causes of death of the woman will be ascertained during the legal autopsy that will be performed on her body later today at the Larnaca General Hospital.

However, it is believed that her death came after a heart attack.
