Another episode of death of a swimmer took place today Saturday in the area of Protaras.
The swimmer, probably a foreigner, about 60 years old, was found floating unconscious on a beach in Protaras, early in the afternoon.
He was transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to testimonies held by the Police, the man seems to have been walking in shallow water, which did not exceed one meter, and at some point he was realized to lose consciousness and to fall into the sea.
Police believe that the death of the 60-year-old is due to a heart attack, however, the exact causes will be determined by the legal autopsy that will be performed on his body.
At the same time, investigations are being carried out for the details of the unfortunate foreigner, since so far he has not been searched by any of his relatives.
