The descent program of 7.000 Austrian Tourists Video has been successfully completed
The first year of the visit to Cyprus of more than 7000 Austrian retirees, members of the Austrian Pensioners' Federation PVO (Pensionisternverband), organized by its subsidiary Senioren Reisen, which belongs to the Austrian Socialist Party, is successfully completed today. Their program included mandatory excursions, while there was the possibility of choosing from a series of optional excursions and activities, which was chosen by the majority of participants.
The specific trips, in addition to the benefit they had for Cyprus in terms of creating tourist traffic in a relatively low period and the income from the services offered, also contributed to the promotion of Cyprus in the Austrian market since during the 5 weeks they accompanied the groups of journalists from local newspapers and radio stations, as well as a crew from state television.
The successful organization of the first year proves, beyond any doubt, the ability of Cyprus to host tourism outside the summer season, offering a range of activities aimed at different parts of the market, in addition to the sun and the sea (Senior age, sports tourism etc. a.) but also its ability to successfully undertake the organization of large events etc. that require coordination and cooperation between the various bodies.
A similar number of Austrian visitors is expected in the spring of 2018.
