A total of 1344 polling stations will operate for the December 18th Municipal and Community Elections.
According to an announcement by the General Election Commissioner, a total of 77 polling stations will operate in the province of Famagusta, 48 for the Municipal and 29 for the Community Elections.
Specifically, regarding the Municipalities and Communities of the province of Famagusta, the following polling stations will operate:
Municipality of Paralimni: 16
Municipality of Ayia Napa: 5
Municipality of Deryneia: 7
Municipality of Sotira: 7
Municipality of Famagusta: 10
Municipality of Akanthos: 1
Municipality of Lysis: 1
Municipality of Lefkonikos: 1
As mentioned, the sorting and counting of votes, for the purposes of the Municipal and Community elections, will take place at the local polling stations, immediately after the end of the voting, with the exception of individual ballot boxes of occupied communities with a small number of voters per occupied community. which will be transferred for sorting and counting to a single sorting center, which will operate at the Ministry of Finance, in Nicosia.
In each Province, for the purposes of processing and publishing the election results, there will be a Secretariat of the relevant Registrar, for the collection and classification of the results. For all the Municipalities / Communities of the Province of Famagusta it will operate in the Office of the District Administration of Famagusta, in Paralimni.
