One of the responsibilities of the Legal Service of the Republic, through the Appeals Sub-Division of the Administrative Court of International Protection, is the representation and defense of the Administration (Ministry of the Interior, Asylum Service, Department of Population and Immigration Records), before all competent Courts of the State, in appeals against the Republic registered by foreigners and asylum seekers. The contribution of the Legal Service is essential to manage the large number of cases registered against the Republic in the Courts due to the increased immigration flows in the Republic.
