Regarding the developments in the Cyprus issue and the actions of the Municipality of Famagusta, a wide meeting was held last night with representatives of the organized groups of the city for exchange of views and discussion.
According to an announcement by the Municipality, the meeting was attended by bodies and registered Associations of the Municipality of Famagusta with a rich contribution to the events of Famagusta before and after 1974. During the meeting, the ambassador and negotiator of the Greek Cypriot side Andreas Mavrogiannis developments on the Cyprus issue.
This was followed by a briefing by the Mayor Alexis Galanos on the actions of the Municipality of Famagusta in Cyprus and abroad and the future action of the Municipality. Messrs. Mavrogiannis and Galanos answered questions submitted by the representatives of the bodies and organizations of the Municipality of Famagusta.
Yesterday's meeting is a precursor to a new round of consultations with the official bodies of the Municipality of Famagusta for exchange of views and ideas on the continuation of the struggle for return but also cooperation to solve the various problems caused by the refugee world, the illegal occupation of Famagusta by Turkish troops.
