The submission of a project proposal for accessibility in the Program "Greece-Cyprus-strategic projects" was the topic of discussion at the meeting that the Mayor Mr. Giannis Karousos had with the representatives of the National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities (Ε.Σ.Α.μεΑ .), the President Ioannis Vardakastanis and Vangelis Karitsas.
At the meeting, the Mayor Mr. Giannis Karousos expressed the strong will of the Municipal Authority and himself to make Ayia Napa a Municipality completely accessible to its residents and visitors.
"Our ambition, said Mr. Karousos, is to make our Municipality universally accessible and to be a model city of accessibility."
In his statements after the meeting, the President of Ε.Σ.Α.μεΑ. Ioannis Vardakastanis characterized the long-term cooperation of the Federation with the Municipality of Ayia Napa, creative and extremely promotional of an important sector for the life of people with disabilities living in the two cities of Rethymno and Ayia Napa.
Mr. Vardakastanis also expressed his satisfaction that the effort for new accessibility projects continues and added that the International Federation of Persons with Disabilities is interested in investing significantly in Flag Municipalities in the field of accessibility such as the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
