Six Anorthosis fans aged 16 to 33 were arrested last night by the Police for the incidents that took place outside the "Antonis Papadopoulos" stadium in Larnaca after the end of the football match between the Anorthosis - APOEL teams.

According to the Police, after the end of the football match that took place yesterday afternoon at the "Antonis Papadopoulos" stadium, about 150 Anorthosis fans gathered on Papanikoli Avenue, who had previously clashed elsewhere with fans of the host team and the host team. intervenes to suppress the conflict.

As soon as the gathered Anorthosis fans saw the police, they started throwing objects and stones at them. In the attempt of the Police to suppress the incidents, a total of six arrests of Anorthosis fans were made.

Specifically, a 16-year-old from Deryneia, an 18-year-old from Larnaca, a 20-year-old and a 26-year-old from Sotira and a 17-year-old from Paralimni were arrested for the spontaneous crime of harassment. A 33-year-old man from Larnaca was also arrested for the self-inflicted crime of public insult and concern.

Three police officers of ADE Famagusta and one police officer of MMAD were injured in the incidents by throwing objects at the fans.

One police officer was examined at the General Hospital of Paralimni after he felt chest pain and then he was fired without bringing anything abnormal while the MMAD police officer was examined at the General Hospital of Nicosia where it was found that he had an injury to his left wrist.

The third police officer did not want to go to the hospital for examination by doctors, while the fourth was examined at the Larnaca General Hospital where he was found to have a bruise on his right leg two centimeters long and after the wound was sutured he was fired.

The six arrested are expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court for a detention order.

The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Police Department.

Four people complained to the Police that they were attacked by APOEL fans

Four people from Larnaca complained to the Police last night that after the football match between Anorthosis - APOEL in Larnaca they were attacked by a portion of APOEL fans.

According to the Police, at around eleven last night, a 55-year-old, a 20-year-old, a 29-year-old and a 36-year-old were all reported from Larnaca that around eight last night after the football match between Anorthosis - APOEL at the "Antonis" stadium. The two people were examined by a doctor and given first aid and then fired.

The other two complainants refused to go to the hospital for a medical examination.

The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Department of Minor Offenses.
