The 48-year-old Albanian, who is wanted as one of the main suspects in Thursday's murder in Ayia Napa, seems to have a "rich" biography, as he had previously occupied the Greek authorities.

According to information, Alex Burelli had starred in 2013 in a chase by police in Keratsini, while in 2006 he was arrested by the Greek authorities for a drug case.

In particular, Boureli was involved in a fraud case by buying gold pounds and was located in 2013 in Athens, by police officers on the streets of Keratsini. He did not stop at their signal for control, followed by a chase, during which he allegedly shot at the police. He was eventually arrested when the vehicle in which he was riding with a second person overturned due to the high speed he developed.

He was then remanded in custody for 12 months, initially on charges of attempted murder against police officers, but later turned into a misdemeanor for pointless shootings.

In 2006, Alex Burelli was again busy with the Greek authorities, when he was arrested for possession of a kilo of cocaine. At first instance, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He was imprisoned for three years and released in 2009.

According to Greek media, the wanted man grew up in Greece and had attended the 5th High School of Keratsini.

The 48-year-old fugitive appears to have arrived in the occupied territories via Istanbul in early May, along with Vogli Gianni, 41, who was killed in an exchange of gunfire on the day of the murder in Ayia Napa.
