At times when the minimum wage is 800 euros a month, government officials have a check at the end of each month that exceeds 12.000 euros.

We are not talking only about the President of the Republic, nor about the Ministers. The highest paid government official is the Privatization Supervisor Konstantinos Herodotou, who has an annual gross income of 182.440 euros, with all his salary and allowances after deducting the extraordinary contribution and the reduction of the earned income (147.163). but it was abolished on 1 January. The Registrar paid 1,75% of his salary). This amount also includes two allowances: 18.000 for show expenses and 1.740 euros for hospitality.

The President of the Republic himself has a total earnings of 132.360 euros, ie his check is 14.803 euros below that of the Supervisor of Privatizations.

It should be noted that the issue of the abolition of the Privatization Unit has been discussed in the Parliament in recent weeks, since it is considered that its mission was carried out due to the withdrawal of the bills for privatizations by the government.

All the details of the report on salaries and allowances that we publish, are contained in a document sent to our newspaper by the address of the Department of Public Administration and Personnel of the Ministry of Finance. What does not appear in the document is the fact that the Privatization Commissioner resigned 18 days ago, on February 14, from his position and was appointed the next day, on February 15, to the position of Executive Advisor at the Central Bank.

The President's salary

The second highest salary is, as mentioned above, that of the President of the Republic. The gross, including the 13th, his salary is 127.307 euros. He also has a 35.857 euro allowance for performance expenses. In total, the President's annual net earnings amount to 132.360 euros.

Attorney General and Supreme Court judges

The Attorney General, the Assistant Attorney General, has a total net income of € 125.761 and includes a performance allowance of € 18.000.

The President and the Judges of the Supreme Court have exactly the same gross salary as the Attorney General (136.756 euros per year), but their check is higher, as their earnings do not apply to the reduction of the extraordinary contribution, which as mentioned above was abolished by January 1st. Specifically, the net earnings of the Judges of the Supreme Court amount to 154.756 euros.

EDY and EEY

The Chairman of the Public Service Committee has a gross salary of 112.889 euros, and an allowance of 18.000 euros for performance expenses. His net earnings were previously 107.024 euros, while now with the abolition of the special contribution payment he will be a few thousand euros higher.

The Chairman of the Educational Service Committee has gross earnings of 106.518 euros and an allowance for performance expenses of 18.000 euros. His net income amounts to 102.023 euros, while now it should be increased by a few thousand euros due to, as mentioned above, the abolition of the special contribution. The Speaker of Parliament and the General Directors

The lower the total gross earnings of the Speaker of Parliament. They amount to 129.734 euros and include a performance allowance of 29.186 euros. The net annual earnings of the Speaker of Parliament amount to 106.119 euros.

The Chairman of the Competition Protection Committee has a gross annual earnings of 104.532 euros and a performance allowance of 18.000 euros. Her total salary is 122.532 euros and her net salary is 100.465 euros.

The following government officials have exactly the same earnings and benefits:

The Chief of Army

The gross salary of the Army Chief amounts to 104.532 euros and has a special allowance of 6.690 euros. However, as noted in the notes on this position, the salary of the Chief is determined, paid and taxed by the Hellenic Republic, while the Republic of Cyprus pays a special annual allowance as a Greek officer of 7871 euros - 15%.

The Tax Commissioner has gross earnings of 100.000 euros and a special allowance of 12.000 euros. His net earnings amount to 92.197 euros.

The Chairman of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission and the Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Authority have gross earnings of 104.532 euros and a special allowance of 6.144 for the first and 5.100 euros for the second. The net annual earnings of the President of the EC amount to 91.158 euros and that of the President of the Regulatory Authority to 90.338 euros.

The salaries of the Ministers are 13.139 euros lower than those of the General Directors

The Ministers, the Deputy Minister in addition to the President, the Government Spokesman and the Commissioner for Legislation and Protection of the Rights of the Child have gross earnings of 81.890 each and an allowance for representation expenses of 23.905 euros. Their net earnings amount to 87.326 euros.

The directors of large government departments, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, the Commissioner for Rural Payments and the Commissioner for Cooperative Services have gross earnings of 96.591 euros and a special allowance of 5.100 euros. Their net earnings amount to 84.104 euros.

The members of the Public Service Committee have a net annual income of 80.227 euros, while the net salary of the Deputy Chief of the National Guard amounts to 80.101 euros.

The members of the Educational Service Committee have a net income of 74.050 euros, the Vice President of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission 73.663 euros and the Assistant Commissioner of the Agricultural Payments Organization 73.582 euros.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs is paid 74.278 euros, while prosecutors are paid 71.687 euros. Clinical Managers also have net earnings of 71.687 euros.

Members of Parliament

MPs have annual net earnings of 69.412 euros. This amount includes a performance allowance and a secretarial service allowance. Representatives of Religious Groups have the same net salary. It is worth noting that the Special Adviser to the Speaker of Parliament has a slightly higher salary than MPs, as he is clearly paid 69.528 euros.
