Welcoming a press conference for the German language month, the Minister said that the German language is one of the most widespread in the European Union, which makes it very relevant today.

In addition, he added, according to an official announcement, German-speaking countries are ranked among the preferences of young people for their studies, because they have high-level higher education institutions, as well as attractive data and prospects in the labor market. As Mr. Kadis said, in Cyprus, in recent years, the number of students studying in German-speaking countries has increased significantly and students choose fields of music, applied, positive and technological sciences in universities of these countries, with a long tradition and long history, where knowledge of the German language is considered essential.

At the same time in our country, the knowledge of the German language in the field of tourism is considered an important qualification, since the number of German-speaking tourists who choose Cyprus for their holidays is constantly increasing.

The German Language Month is organized for the 5th consecutive year by the Association of German Language Teachers of Cyprus and the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the embassies of Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Goethe Institute of Cyprus.

A variety of German-related events are planned for the entire month of November, thus promoting the further development of cultural activities between Cyprus and German-speaking countries.

Through theater, cinema, literature, various music events and lectures, the public will be able to draw information and data related to the culture of German-speaking countries such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

As the Minister pointed out, these initiatives strengthen our good relations with the specific countries and strengthen our friendly ties.
