The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth and the Education Service Committee are making huge efforts day and night to immediately solve any problem related to finding replacements, says in a written statement, the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, Σκαλιάς.
"Regarding the statements that have been made and which concern issues of substitutes in public schools of all levels, I want to assure all those involved, pupils and especially the trade unions OELMEK and POED but also the representatives of parents all over Cyprus. "The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, as well as the Education Service Committee, are making great efforts day and night to immediately resolve any problems that may arise in finding replacements." he adds.
However, says Mr. Skalias, despite the tireless and continuous efforts of the aforementioned institutions, I think it is at least known to the educational organizations that in terms of replacements it is not enough just to activate the institutions responsible for them but also the positive acceptance the invitation on behalf of the teachers invited for this purpose.
"I warmly ask the trade union educational organizations OELMEK and POED, in the framework of our good cooperation, as they also contribute, to the best of their ability, to the normalization of the problem, appealing to the teachers who are called for replacement to accept it, especially today under these difficult conditions for the place, thus offering a huge service to the students, the parents but also to the Cypriot society in general ", he concludes.
